Award-winning pianist Kosmas Lapatas was classically trained in Piano, Advanced Theory, Musicology and Music Technology under world-class artists from Juilliard, RAM, GSMD, Open, York, Hunter, HCMA and Motown. He has attended intensive masterclasses in Piano Performance, Piano Pedagogy, Choir & Ensemble Conducting with distinguished artists from Juilliard, Mannes, Mozarteum, Gnessin Academy, Franz Liszt Academy, Indiana U, Michigan U, St Mary's, Novi Sad, RCM, NYU, HMK and MDW. He also studied Modern and Post-Modern Music, Teaching Pedagogy, Performance Practice, Musical Notation, Philosophy, Aesthetics, Literature, Poetry, Drama and Art History under distinguished professors from Juilliard, Mannes, Harvard, Princeton, Cornell, Emory, Edinburgh, Royal Holloway, City & IOE. His tutors were trained by iconic classical musicians such as Adele Marcus, Alberto Guerrero, Alexander Brailowsky, Branka Musulin, Carl Orff, Clifford Curzon, George Enescu, Geza Anda, Igor Markevitch, Ivan Moravec, Jacob Leteiner, John Ogdon, Lev Naumov, Mieczysław Horszowski, Nadia Boulanger, Nina Svetlanova, Paul Badura Skoda, Paul Hindemith, Rosina Lhevinne, Rudolf Serkin, Ruth Slenczynska, Yonty Solomon, Yvonne Hubert, and Yvonne Messiaen. He is a Teaching Artist at public & private schools, colleges, conservatories and institutions, and has performed at prestigious concert halls and cultural centers all over Greece. His awards include 1st Prize in Piano Performance, 1st Prize in Composition, Classical Music Education Initiative and Honorary Diploma in Ensemble Conducting. He has recorded classical piano works as well as his own film and electronic compositions for ONErpm. He is a member of AMS, EPTA, GSME, HeJMEC, IAC, ISPCI, ISPME, MPG, NAfME, NEMA.
